Would you like to improve your writing?
The Magdalene Royal Literary Fund (RLF) Writing Fellow can help you unlock the potential in your academic writing.
Professor Ruth Padel is a professional writer with years of experience writing and publishing in many genres - essays, academic work, general nonfiction and fiction as well as poetry. She will listen to what you want and work with you to examine your writing and help you to improve.

RLF Writing Fellows do not provide proofreading, EAP, or Creative Writing tuition. Their focus is on helping you develop and strengthen your writing skills for both your current work and future projects.
Making an appointment
Appointments are available on Thursday and Friday, 9 am - 6 pm (last appointment 5 pm) during term time.

Professor Ruth Padel
College positions: Visiting Fellow
Professor Ruth Padel is the Royal Literary Fellow at Magdalene. She is an award-winning poet, author and conservationist with close links to Greece, India, music, wildlife and Charles Darwin. Her new poetry collection Girl (Chatto & Windus) November 2024, is a Poetry Book Society Special Commendation.
