Supporting Student Mental Health and Wellbeing

Supporting our students' mental health and wellbeing is a vital part of our commitment to fostering a caring community. Last year, a third of our students turned to the Health and Wellbeing team – a trusted resource dedicated to preventative support, personal counselling and wellbeing activities.

Students benefit from one-to-one sessions for professional guidance, emotional support, or simply a safe space to share. Our Health and Wellbeing team provides compassionate care for a variety of mental and physical health needs, including anxiety, depression, neurodivergence and other challenges. We offer short-term, evidence-based support and help connect students with specialised services when needed.

The Student Welfare and Mental Health Fund launched in 2020 thanks to our donors, is essential in allowing our Head of Student Welfare to offer the resources needed to sustain this crucial support. Please take a moment to watch our video, featuring Head of Student Health and Wellbeing Catriona Keane and JCR Welfare Officers Jacob Walsh and Abbie Strain, as they discuss how student welfare impacts the College community.
