College positions: Visiting Fellow

Subject: Law

Mr Aaron Taylor is a Visiting Fellow at Magdalene. He is a barrister at Fountain Court Chambers, with a particular interest in the law relating to art and cultural property.

Mr Aaron Taylor is a barrister at Fountain Court Chambers, where he acts in a range of commercial disputes, with a particular focus on high-value, multi-jurisdictional civil fraud claims. He has a strong interest in the law relating to art and cultural property—particularly the murkier aspects of the commercial art market—which is the focus of his academic work.

He teaches art law at the London School of Economics and serves on the editorial board of the journal Art, Antiquity and Law. He is currently working on two projects. The first is an academic article examining the legal position of authentication experts in the art market. The second is a trade non-fiction book about fraud, fakes, and financial crime in the global art market, scheduled for publication in early 2027. His research is supported by a Churchill Fellowship.

As an undergraduate, Mr Taylor sang in the Chapel Choir at Magdalene, and he is pleased to return as a Visiting Fellow.
