Thank you for supporting the Back a Book initiative.
Your contribution helps preserve the historic collections of the Pepys Library, ensuring that these valuable books can be studied and exhibited for future generations.
How your donation helps
The cost of conserving each book is listed below. Those who fund the full conservation of an item will receive:
- A Conservation Report, detailing the restoration work with before-and-after photographs.
- Acknowledgement in the online catalogue record, where applicable (currently for printed books only).
- Recognition in the Pepys Library section of the College website and in the Friends of the Pepys Library Newsletter.
How to donate
If you wish to fund the conservation of a book in full, please write the title in the textbox on the donation form.

- Licence in Mortmain, 1589 (College Archives) - Cost to conserve: £480.00
- ‘Les Méditations Métaphysiques’, by René Descartes, 1681 (Old Library) - Cost to conserve: £760.00
- Works of Walter Hilton, 15th Century (Old Library) - Cost to conserve: £1400.00
